Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

+1 madeira and the azores -- both are exactly what you're describing (wait for the right cloud, wait for the swell). couple others that fit your list well: - faroe islands -- weather is literally the itinerary, hiking is world-class, the light for photography is unreal on the days it cooperates. tiny towns, cheap-ish airbnbs off the main island. norse history everywhere. - north coast of ireland (sligo/donegal, especially around bundoran and mullaghmore) -- serious cold-water surf scene, cliff walks, dolmens and passage tombs older than the pyramids. sligo town is small and cheap and has decent cafes. - sardinia's east coast (cala gonone / dorgali area) -- limestone climbing on the whole coast, hiking in the supramonte, nuragic ruins nobody talks about outside italy, and shoulder-season is dead quiet. - kotor bay montenegro -- fjord-ish views, hiking straight out of town up the ladder of kotor, historical old town, cheap. surf-free obviously. one nerdy thing that helped me a lot on the shoulder-season slow-work days when the weather was uncooperative -- yorepath, it's a free geo-aware audio app (ios/android) that plays local off-plaque history for wherever youre standing. on madeira it filled the funchal old-town walks (why the levadas exist, whaling era stuff), and on the azores it did a lot for the terceira and são miguel village blocks that nothing translates in english. probably overkill if you'd rather just wander with a podcast, but on the weather-wait days it kept the walking-around-camera time feeling productive -- pre-download the region since signal is patchy on all these islands. have fun with the search!

Google translate is a thing. I'm just tired of these subreddits regurgitating the same specific places when its clear they followed the same, safe, well trodden path as everyone else but for some reason act like they're about that life. If Techno and Gym really is a priority and you're after a young creative scene on a fairly high budget. I'd recommend a major city in China or Japan. Japan especially has good enough transport links to get you out of the city and on a gorgeous hiking path within 2 hours easily. Techno is a hard one I can't speak on but both have a clubbing scenes where you could find somewhere to suit your tastes. You can stay in Japan for 90 days no visa which is long enough to *fuck around and find out*. Its this where he would encounter issues >I only speak English so somewhere easy enough to assimilate without speaking the local language. So maybe somewhere a little less foreign like Europe? I've only passed through Berlin but it has a heavy clubbing scene and amenities....rolling hills for hiking shouldn't be too far with their great transport links. I personally have spent time in Dusseldorf which is great for that stuff. So maybe stay in Netherlands and travel to Switzerland on the weekend? I've done hiking in the south of Spain. Hot but beautiful but then you're lacking the clubbing scene for your techno. I don't know... Point being. This place needs to switch it the fuck up man....

"I only speak English" So far. Monoglot is no way to go through life as a traveler. Fly to South America or Mexico, fix learning Spanish as a goal, do it. Switch Brazil / Portuguese, or Bahasa Indonesia / Indonesia, etc. etc. Having a mission that requires regular engagement keeps you fit mentally, and will distinguish you from the horde of identikit DNs who don't even know which country they are in half the time.

English: New York and obviously so Greek: Better than other Americans but occasionally obvious it's my second language Brazilian Portuguese: More heavily Carioca because I learned from my wife but with obvious pronunciations that give away that it's my third language

English: a weird mix of Texas, Chicago, hood-ish, and whatever makes me soften my consonants. French: An ex’s boyfriend said I speak like I’m from the hood. 🤷♂️ German: Pretty lazy tongue but good pronunciation. When I first started, people told me I spoke with a French accent. Eventually got rid of that. Spanish: Andalusian af mixed with some poor pronunciation here and there due to me working in English all day.
