   Where in western EU? You can live off that in some French villages for sure, but what will you do for work and how will you declare your income?

   That "free" healthcare is 12-16% of your monthly budget. Obviously learning French has some hard-to-quantify value, if you don't have the discipline/time to learn on your own, but still.

   I live here. So I don’t understand what you’re saying. Go to Locamoi.fr and look. They may be shoeboxes, but they sure exist. I can find you apartments in Dijon or Metz for €350 a month, and no, I am not talking about dumpsters. I lived there.. So I know what I am talking about. The French taxpayer absolutely pays for your healthcare if you are in certain categories like student. A lot of digital nomads enroll in just French classes to get a student visa. This costs anywhere from €3,000-4000 euros a year, but it comes with a lot of stability. You could do this perennially, have student status and get medical care covered by the French state. I am not addressing digital nomads who live in Airbnbs like they do in Bali or Vietnam. That’s otra cosa. I am talking about digital nomads who slow travel and be based in one place for a bit. There was no mention of Airbnb here. So..

   Health care will absolutely not be taken care of by the French state (tax payer) And you’re not finding a loft for €450 in a small city. Paris does not have budget friendly options for $2000 I.e. €1733 . That’s what you’d probably pay for a month’s short term accommodation in Paris with no French income. This comment is so nutty.
