   Yeah this is a good advice. I've seen hostels with surprising infrastructure once you actually talk to staff, one place I stayed in Barcelona had a whole unused office nook they let me use for calls. Definitely worth asking around instead of assuming it's not an option.

   Every single one I've been in has this, it's the bare minimum of a coworking. Single person meeting booth rooms are also very common, there's like 6 in my office. This sub is so weird, I don't think many people posting here actually work long term across the planet. They're just on holiday, probably lying to their boss, scrounging cash that desperately while earning a full time wage doesn't make any sense. Whenever anyone has an aversion to paying for a coworking I consider them dubious, you can get dailies for cheap, monthlys for even cheaper, claim it all on tax as a deduction. Working out of a hostel and taking meetings, seriously? You'd get fired at my company pulling that.

   Same struggle from Tokyo — I do daily standups and sometimes 1:1s that need privacy. What ends up working is renting a private room at hostels that offer them, or checking if the city has any pay-per-hour booth services. Libraries with reservable study rooms caught me off guard in a good way in a couple cities too.

   Every platform says it's different but they all turn into the same thing. ghost towns after a month or just people trying to hook up. what i do is just stay at hostels even if i get a private room, the common areas are where you meet people. in mexico i ended up traveling with 3 people i met at breakfast.

   same, private rooms or airbnbs during heavy meeting weeks. some hostels also have tiny meeting rooms or quiet corners you can reserve, but it really depends on the place and staff. always ask at check-in, sometimes they’ll help you improvise.
