   First of all - sorry about your fiancé. Your life must feel in shambles right now. But, you may look upon this one day as a blessing in disguise and a chance for a fresh start. As far as where to stay - I have been a digital nomad all over the world... there are a zillion places you can go. If you want to get really adventurous you can go to Morocco, Cambodia, etc. I have a friend right now who is DMing from the Amazon jungle in Brazil. But if you're just getting started, places like France and Portugal are solid too. Pick a place that you've always wanted to go on vacation and just go there. As long as they have good internet you'll be able to figure it out. As far as how to find a place to stay - AirBnB is the easiest. If you want to save a bit of money you can try to find something in a more hidden place like Craigslist, FB Marketplace, etc. If you're worried about getting lonely you might consider going to a coworking hostel, coliving space, or other accomodation that specifically caters to digital nomads. These are more common in places where there are tons of other nomads, it should be easy to find one in Lisbon, less so in some small town in France. I usually work either in cafes or at home, but have also tried public libraries, universities, etc - experiment with some stuff and figure out what you like. The questions you're asking sound more like you're nervous about getting started. Which is totally understandable. But this is all quite simple - if you just go and figure it out as you get there, you may have a few moments where you panic/feel shitty, but it will turn out better than you think. :)

   Never had an issue flying to Morocco or anywhere else with Ryanair because I follow the rules and my bag fits. Follow this simple tip for hassle free flying

   ryanair's whole business model is running a flying bus with surprise fees, morocco routes seem extra bad for this though. they pulled that cm-over trick on me in fez last year, made me stuff a hoodie on under my jacket in 35 degree heat just to avoid the charge. absolute clowns

   Never fly with Ryanair to Morocco - Ryanair will look for any reason to charge you extra for luggage. I always fly with them using the exact same suitcase and have never had a problem. I suspect staff have incentives to collect fees, since people get charged over a single centimetre beyond the size limit. It seems like they pick a few passengers on each flight to pay up so they can hit a quota. They can also be extremely rude and ruthless about it.

   Always happy to see people complaining about AirBnB 👏. I stopped using them years ago after their enshittification process started: you get much better value for money with an hotel I'll never forget my stay in Tangier (Morocco 🇲🇦), highly rated property with Super Host. We reach and Wi-fi is not working, the host says it's going to be fixed in a few hours and for three days we didn't have Internet. Mobile data also was kind of shitty so couldn't do anything (even WhatsApp text messages were taking time to send) This is just one of many episodes, my friends have had much worse experiences (e.g. check-in in an apartment full of garbage everywhere including left over food on the floor etc.) EDIT: typo "where" -> "were"
