Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Always happy to see people complaining about AirBnB 👏. I stopped using them years ago after their enshittification process started: you get much better value for money with an hotel I'll never forget my stay in Tangier (Morocco 🇲🇦), highly rated property with Super Host. We reach and Wi-fi is not working, the host says it's going to be fixed in a few hours and for three days we didn't have Internet. Mobile data also was kind of shitty so couldn't do anything (even WhatsApp text messages were taking time to send) This is just one of many episodes, my friends have had much worse experiences (e.g. check-in in an apartment full of garbage everywhere including left over food on the floor etc.) EDIT: typo "where" -> "were"

Tangier is awesome although only been there as a tourist. I stayed in the kasbah and loved it but the modern part of the city would probably make more sense for a longer term stay, better infrastructure and the kasbah is sketchy at night. I got lost in the alleys of the kasbah at night and came very close to having some bad experiences lol.

If you want something completely different from Mexico's west coast, look at the north of Morocco — Martil/Cabo Negro on the Med coast. Honest caveat up front: Jan/Feb there is mild, not beach weather. Days around 16-17°C — great for working from a terrace, not for swimming. If beach swimming is non-negotiable, stick with Mexico or look at the Canaries. If you're open to mild though, it's a strong fit for your list: * Internet: Fibre in most apartments, 50-100 Mbps is normal. Totally fine for video calls. * Beach towns: Martil and Cabo Negro are small, walkable, right on the Mediterranean. Quiet in winter — no crowds. * Cost: Much cheaper than Mexico's nomad coast. Your 3-4 weeks there costs noticeably less than Puerto Escondido. * Getting there: Fly into Tangier (international airport), or ferry from Spain if you want to combine it with Europe. So the fork is simple: swimming weather = Mexico/Canaries. Mild + cheap + different = north Morocco is worth a look.

That sounds awful. I feel very fortunate that it has never happend to me in Tangier.

I spent a month in Tangier and loved it, despite being sick for a good half of that time. I stayed in the Kasbah in a four-story house with a rooftop garden. I spent my days working, wandering around, listening to the adhan, trying to find the source of various sounds that drifted up from the alleys, eating great food, and getting twice-daily flat whites from a kid named Omar who I still think about often. I was working US east coast hours. I say go for it. One note: I did pretty much stay in the Kasbah, which I regretted on the drive to the airport to leave. There's a lot more to the city (obviously), and I wish I would have ventured out more. But the tucked-in, insular nature of those few weeks really appealed to me, so...turns and roundabouts. Edit: This was a little over a year ago.
