I think you need to train him better. It’s important to set boundaries, even when they feel “at home”. This is especially true when you’ve reached the level of comfort that you don’t see the little things that might be bothering someone. Worst case scenario, it might be time to consider letting him go. I’m talking about this so-called boyfriend of yours, by the way. I think the dog is fine and should be allowed wherever he wants to go. You share a living space with your Furbaby; whatever you are most comfortable with should be the general rule. Personally, my house is just one giant dog bed, and I am simply the snack dealer.
