Its funny right now my dogs sleep in their dog beds...they used to sleep in the bed with us but now they simply prefer the floor, their beds, the couch, the other couch. I think its too warm in our bed these days

I can respect someone who doesn’t want dogs on their beds or couches (though I do side eye them). But I’m a dog on the furniture person and I’d only be in a relationship with another dog on the furniture person. And I certainly wouldn’t start trying to keep my old dog off of furniture to appease someone I barely know.

We don't let our dogs on the bed or couch - we have enough problems with dog hair as it is - but if you've had your dog 10 years, and has been sleeping on your bed/couch all that time, it's unreasonable to change that behavior (if you even can) because some new guy doesn't like it.

Ew. Break up with him. I don't respect anyone who would judge me for loving my animals and providing a comfortable and safe environment for them, to include sleeping on the bed and couch. I would never tell a guest not to sit on the couch or sleep in a bed, why on earth would I not let my companion sleep on those things? Literally massive red flag.

Pretty much exactly what I’m thinking. I think I’ve let all dogs I’ve had or currently have on the couches. There are times when I keep them off especially if they are extra dirty from rolling around in something. Maybe I’m currently eating food while on the coach. I’ve gotten dog covers for my dog so she can be on the couch without making it dirty or hairy
