It will be too much, and just enough, then way too easy, then all of your energy. Adopting a dog means being able to arrange life in a way that benefits the dog that you're trying to give the best life ever. In return you get insurmountable joy from giving live to your lil one. They hopefully return that love with cuddles and licks, but not always!! Do not expect a fairy tale. Do lots of reading up, learn about 3-3-3 etc. All my love to you 😊

Please listen to this advice! I had 2 dogs when I met and married my husband. After 1 died, he didn’t want a 2nd one and I let him convince me. Then when the 2nd one got old and sick, he wanted to euthanize him before I was ready. He did it anyway and fought me for getting another dog, even though our daughter and I were heartbroken. I finally divorced the jerk. I’ve had 2 or more dogs ever since and foster rescues, so sometimes I have 4 or 5. In 12 years, I’ve fostered over 200. Making up for years of one dog.

Yeah I wouldn’t leave in the crate all day either. Honestly she sounds like she’s got it handled. If she’s not destroying anything and she’s sleeping, I don’t see a need to change much of anything. Dogs just sleep when we’re not there. Put a camera on her and watch when you leave, guarantee she will sleep most of the time if she’s had adequate exercise.
