   9 months old is basically the “my brain is still loading” stage 😂 Neutering can reduce hormone-driven behavior, but humping can also be excitement, overstimulation, stress, or just a habit. I’d interrupt it calmly, give him something else to do, and reward him when he settles instead of letting him keep practicing it. Since the whining/nipping all kicked up suddenly today though, I’d keep an eye on him and check with your vet if it seems really out of character or keeps escalating. Adolescence is humbling 😭

   Good insight. Possibily excitement/anticipation, like wanting to move but wait simultaneously.

   it’s only when we touch him. we try to ignore/not greet him when we get home. he doesn’t pee when we play with him with a toy, but as soon as we pet him (excited or not) he almost always lowers his body and flips onto his belly then dribbles on himself. i know it’s a sign of excitement/submission but no matter place or time, as soon as we pet him he usually dribbles😭

   Does he only pee if you touch him when he excited or just any time he excited? Imaybe don't touch him but grab a toy instead something squeaky or a ball to distract him. I've known lots dogs that pee out excitement and sadly one who use pee out of fear (his owners weren't very nice to him)

   So yeah probably just excitement or submission urination. Our lab had this for maybe a year after we got him. Just a small amount when ever we got home or he got scared around us. Just took time getting him used to us calmly, rewarding him when ever he was also calm and not urinating. Of course not punishing if he did, just no reward. Bands can be a help, but I personally wouldn't use it as a permanent solution. Id keep working on the behavior.
