Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Yeah I wouldn’t leave in the crate all day either. Honestly she sounds like she’s got it handled. If she’s not destroying anything and she’s sleeping, I don’t see a need to change much of anything. Dogs just sleep when we’re not there. Put a camera on her and watch when you leave, guarantee she will sleep most of the time if she’s had adequate exercise.

Dogs get a lot by existing with us. So if you can’t have a dog inside, don’t get one as a pet. I don’t give my dogs a ton of focused attention, but I’m home and interacting with them a lot, day in and day out. We do some training, some play, some exercise, but that’s scattered around the dogs just hanging out while I read, clean, cook, etc. Wait.

I have two cats and a dog. The cats are way easier to care for. I underestimated how much work a dog would be. That being said, I would do it all over again and I love my dog as if he were my child. I agree with those who suggest fostering. That gives you an out if you feel like it’s not a good fit. You can be helpful while finding the perfect companion for you. I also think dog breed is something to consider. I have a lab and he is big, sheds a lot and is high energy. Certain breeds might be a better fit for your lifestyle. My dog has helped me meet neighbors and get out of the house for exercise.

A dog is a HUGE commitment especially if you live alone. Your life will revolve around taking care of it. Overtime at work, vacations, social life etc will be issues then add the 2 hrs everyday for exercise/feeding/grooming etc. Finally consider the cost of food, insurance etc Think it through thoroughly before committing. I live alone and have dogs however fenced yard and dog door. Foster first if possible. Do not get a pup unless you can be home with it for a few months.

Thank you, I like the muzzle idea for yard. I think I've looked into this before but has a hard time finding something suitable for his snout. I'll probably ask at PetSmart. Yeah the lack of exercise is definitely a thing, it has tanked the last few months due to my own health decompensating. But that makes sense and I'll brianstorm to see how this can be addressed.
