My dogs love frozen kongs. I stuff them with mostly pumpkin and a little peanut butter and it keeps them busy for 30-60 mins when I leave, and then they’re pooped!

I have an Australian Kelpie. I am in the same situation as you, but also a single mother- so walking him is very hard some days when it is my custody time. Kelpies are supposed to be SO active, but mine appears to be the most content to laze and love dog I have ever encountered. He was raised from a pup inside, so perhaps that is a bit of it, but really it is the personality lottery. I do have a small yard and he hangs out there all day, so even though I am in a unit, I guess it is not like the traditional high rise. I did employ a college student to come to my home three times a week and walk him when he was younger and she charged $15 a walk, which was an outrageously good price. I have heard rescued greyhounds are wonderful for a life of leisure.
