Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

It’s also important to find a dog that fits your lifestyle as far as breed, age and energy level. There’s no need to get a puppy. There’s also no shame in wanting a trained, medically uncomplicated dog. You don’t have to be a martyr when adopting. There are plenty of well behaved, healthy adult and senior dogs that would love to be back in a home. I’ve also lived alone for a long time (15+ years) and love the simplicity and autonomy. I got my dog 5 years ago when she was 7 and my life is infinitely better with her in it. Of course it’s more work than just living by myself, but the pros outweigh the cons in her case. The last dog I was fostering was 16 with some mobility issues from arthritis. I only had him for one week before he was adopted by the perfect person. He was exactly what this older gentleman was looking for and able to handle. Now the pup gets to live out his golden years spoiled by his new dad, and dad has a chill companion to share his eggs, bacon and toast crusts with (as he excitedly told me). There’s a dog out there for everybody.

Nail Trimming Tips? - I’m at a loss. My 1.5 year old won’t let us trim her nails. I even started as a puppy playing with her feet to get her used to it but I think maybe the vet may have clipped it too close one time and now she won’t let anyone near her. The vet won’t even do it because she won’t let them. I’ve tried \-extensive treat training to positively encourage it \-nail file toys \-nail filer and nail clipper- both are the problem \-muzzling her to prevent biting but she thrashes and we can’t get her to let us near \-calming chews (natural products like from the native pets brand) I genuinely don’t know what else to do. Has anyone else ever had a dog that was this resistant to nail trimming and if so, what helped? I don’t know what else to do

When I first got my dog i was at a resale shop, and saw a rather larger incredible hulk stuffie. I thought it would be funny seeing a puppy dragging around a toy that was bigger than him. He didn't tear it apart. He did unspeakable things to the hulk. Haha. He doesn't seem to shred toys unless there is a squeaker.

Yes, adopt, as so many get passed over. And, potty training a puppy is hard!

I was very lonely and got a dog in 2019. Best decision ever! That said, I was unprepared for the demands of a puppy. It was a much harder, more stressful time than I anticipated, but ultimately very worth it. Try to find a dog/ breed that matches your energy. I think that’s a common mistake people make. Also, consider getting an adult dog (1-2 years or older) if a puppy feels like too much responsibility for you. It’s akin to having a toddler around.
