By the time I was 25 (2001) I had no connection to the current Top 40. It was a gradual move over about three years or so; I think I was still pretty actively listening to top 40 radio stations in my early 20s, but that was late 90s when music was being dominated by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, NSync, Backstreet Boys, Ricky Martin, etc, and I just found it all so terrible. So I started checking out completely probably around 21 (1997), and was done with it by 25.

my 1978 thunderbird had this. Greatest car I’ve ever owned. 18 ft long, 2 door, white with green leather, flip up headlights. bought it in 1997 for $1000. Mint, 48,000miles. At the time, I was embarrassed by it. it got 12 miles to the gallon

I had one in 1994, junior year of High School. My fiance paid for it out of our joint checking. I was one of 5 kids that had a phone at our school, but the other 4 sold drugs. Most of my friends had pagers. I think it was around 1997 when everyone started to get a phone, but it was evening calls or keep it short and sweet as the per minute charge before 6pm was painful.
