Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I remember around 1998 one of my teachers had a sign that said world population tops 6 billion. It was a new sign. So… 28 years later…ngl, I thought we’d be at 10 billion by now.

2 months after graduation in 1998, I t-boned some asshole in Caddy pulling out of a dinner party. After everything settled down, I needed a new vehicle, so my grandpa had a rusty baby blue 1988 Ford Econoline 150 work van sitting in his driveway (old painting van). He sold it to me for $1 (for title purposes), and I remember for the longest time I couldn’t figure out how to turn on the high beams…grandpa had to show me while chuckling. That thing was awesome!

My first child was born in 1998. So probably then.

1998. I was pregnant with my first. My husband decided that I should have a cellphone, but ONLY for emergencies. I made the mistake of using the cellphone ONCE. I was on my way to the airport 45 minutes from home (with my 7 month old in the car) to pick up his mother for the holiday, and I had forgotten what airline she was traveling on. I used the cellphone to call him. He had an absolute meltdown. Apparently, I was supposed to drive home and call from the land line. Then go back to the airport to get her. All with a 7 month old in the car.🙄😳🤦‍♀️. I never used a cellphone after that. Even after my daughter was born in 2001. According to him, "the cell phone is for emergencies ONLY". So I made sure I didn't have 'emergencies'. And yes, there were plenty of times he couldn't 'find' us, because I didn't carry the phone with me.... after all, I was only a house wife, what did I need a cellphone for?🤷‍♀️ I didn't actually start using a cell phone until my kids were in school (2006) and I knew the school would need to be able to get in touch if necessary. And THAT was a conversation 🙄 his friends had with him... Was I supposed to stay home all day in case the school called? Was I supposed to go home and check in case they left a message? Or....wouldn't it be easier for me to have the phone on me, in case they called?
