It was 1999 and I was living in the SF Bay Area working in the dotcom boom. I was a single mom and barely making it, living in a tiny casita and had nothing left over after bills, groceries, etc. I was the Nth caller to correctly name Rock You Like a Hurricane by the Scorpions and won $1,000. The DJ tried to pressure me into donating it to charity and I was like, no. Dude. It was a nice little windfall.

Backstage passes to see Metallica play with a symphony at Madison Square Garden back in 1999. I had to be the 9th caller and tell them which 5 Metallica songs were played each day that week Monday-Friday at 9am.

The \*only\* time I ever won one of these was 2 tickets to see Black Sabbath (original lineup with Bill Ward!) in 1999 at the Rosemont Horizon in Chicago area - my 2 best friends both wanted to go with so I gave them a Black Sabbath trivia quiz and took the one who scored the highest. The show was phenomenal, and this was also before The Osbournes but after Decline of Western Civilization Part 2 so it was not widely understood how funny Ozzy was, and he was absolutely hysterical. He kept saying hilarious Ozzy stuff in Ozzy voice between songs, including our favorite... "THE LOUDER YOU SCREAM, THE LONGER WE WILL PLAY!!!" My friend and I still say that to each other and crack up.
