A physical therapist has a legitimate degree from an accredited school. A chiropractor does not, nor are they a licensed doctor.

I've tried both. My pcp growing up was an osteopath (rare back in those days) and also had chiropractic training. When I dislocated my hip around 20, he popped it back in for me and I went on my way. No pain pills or muscle relaxers needed. About 5 years ago I was really suffering from lower back pain. I went to a chiropractor for a year (they were reputable and I was out of alignment for sure, saw the x-rays), but it still didn't help my back pain. Physically therapy and massage absolutely did...relatively quickly. I think at my age now, unless something is dislocated, I'm going for PT.

My point was, joints can get out of whack, and it’s like people think it’s a made up situation by chiropractors. A PT in my case acknowledged that there was a misalignment. An MD is not going to readjust a joint, but a chiropractor can.
