   I’ve been offered coffee or water at every interview. For those saying interviews are only an hour, I’ve never had an interview that short since McDonalds in HS and have been in 3 hour interviews with multiple teams lined up on the other side.

   We provide drinks at interviews but if someone brought one it wouldn't bother me at all. I am gen x and work in HR.

   Interviews require a fair bit of talking which dries my throat. I plan to have something like water or coffee with me when I arrive. Being prepared for the interview is professional.

   GenX here. I would have no problem with someone bringing a water or a coffee. In fact, I vaguely recall bringing a bottle of water with me (discreetly) to my last in person interview. A long time ago, there used to be all of this ridiculous coaching around how to handle interviews... and one of the golden rules was not to accept coffee or water if offered. I forget why this was the rule but it had something to do with some weird 80's based view of people and management and character and blah blah blah. (There was also this whole thing about if you had a lunch interview or a lunch business meeting to taste your food before salting it because not doing so somehow signaled that you're presumptive or something like that) ANYWAY... I bring my own water. I get nervous and my mouth gets dry. I wouldn't judge someone for doing the same. Though I might raise an eyebrow at a Big Gulp or something but, who cares if you're qualified
