Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

No…. I was making a joke that Pluto is so small a fake, imaginary moon that doesn’t even exists is still bigger.

  2. Comment

I love how Pluto doesn’t give a shit about any of this. If they kept Pluton as a planet they’d have to add a whole bunch of other planets that are around the same size. We’ve already got Ceres, Eris, Haumea, Makemake, and possibly Sedna, Orcus, and Quaoar. Hell, there’s even an argument to be made that Charon and Pluto are actually a binary dwarf-planet system.

  3. Comment

Hah, you caught my mistake. Pluto orbits the Sun twice for every THREE times that Neptune does. I'll fix the mistake in my previous post.

  4. Comment

Pluto is in an orbital resonance with Neptune: it orbits the sun twice for every two times that Neptune does. So Pluto orbits the sun two times for every two times that neptune does? That means Pluto is going significantly faster than Neptune, or you might have your numbers wrong. (it's the latter) Also, the reason Neptune and Pluto never closely approach each other has nothing to do with resonance. The closest they get to each other is about the same distance Saturn is from the sun. Resonance only factors into orbital speeds - Jupiter and the Earth share an orbital resonance, for example.

  5. Comment

It doesn't cross Neptune's path. It does get closer to the sun than Neptune, but their paths are nowhere near each other. You're not thinking in 3 dimensions. The closest point Neptune and Pluto could POSSIBLY get is 17 to 18 AU. The distance between the Sun and Jupiter is just over 5 AU. Also, Neptune doesn't "control Pluto's orbit" that's not what resonance means. For what it's worth, Earth and Jupiter are in a 12:1 resonance. Most planets are in resonance with Jupiter, but nobody would say Jupiter "control's their orbit". You're correct that Pluto won't ever clear its own orbit, but then, neither will any other planet in the Solar system. But that doesn't have anything to do with Neptune. (which also hasn't cleared its orbit.)
