Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Can you find the one about a boy getting a white teddy bear for Christmas, but he wanted the brown one. He journeys off by walking then on the floor of a train or maybe a truck. He finally gets to Santa who hands him a brown bear but after the long trip with the white bear, he decides to keep it. I don't think it had any spoken words.

Drove a truck with that when I was a teenager. I figured out what it was, because cars passing in the opposite direction kept flashing their brights at me. My brights were on and it took me ages to figure out how to turn them off. Pre widespread internet. 🤣

It's still very very true. There are some exceptions but overall the music industry pushes out literal shit "music" by models with auto tune, drunk bro country by people who are just checking boxes that say beer, truck, party, flag and mumble rap by people with nothing to say and no way of understanding them if they did. I see people playing in bars or busking with more talent than 90% of the people winning Grammys. The independent music scene is finally able to get some traction thanks to YouTube and social media allowing them to bypass the gatekeepers. But it's still a fight. Billboard just changed their rules a few weeks ago for the first time in decades just to keep independent rapper Prof from showing at #1 on their rap charts with his new album that got to number 2 just before the official release. New music doesn't suck. New INDUSTRY music sucks. And it has for decades. I think I really started tuning out in the 00s

I’m so old I’ve driven a truck that had one of those on the other side, used to start it.

My dad told us it was the autopilot button. On a straight stretch of road he’d take both hands off the wheel, and we believed that the truck was driving itself.
