Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Notice how you claimed Beyoncé said she wrote a song from album liner notes she didn't make. Notice how you have been arguing for 3 days over a lie you blended up in your head. I simply defined words for you (because they actually mean things ☝️🤓). Beyoncé is a songwriter and producer. She doesn't have to claim anything. She has the stats to prove it, the split sheets, the solo publishing deal she got because of her writing while in Destinys Child from LA Reid, Sony wanting her to write more after Independent Woman, her writing 90% of the entire Survivor album (#3 biggest album gloablly for year-end 2001 btw) winning songwriter of the year at 19 and crafting lyrics/lead melodies as part of the writing music composition, bgvs as part of the vocal production and instrumentation input as part of the musical production to this day. No sane person is arguing for 3 days over something they lied about, get a job, Beyoncé has several, dweeb 💛

Well for one, Beyoncé is a lyricist and you can ask people like Walter Afanasieff, Rodney Jerkins, and Jack White to name a few about watching her pen at work. She is the sole lyricist of Independent Woman, longest running #1 song by a girl group in history btw and you argue with the ASCAP about that, two Whitney simply wasn't writing on those songs and when someone writes a MELODY (again can do both), that person is part of the publishing split amongst the writers. People who write a melody on a song but no lyrics do NOT get lumped into the producers section automatically. Producers are apart of the musical instrumentation. They are the technicians behind creating the sound from which the composition (lyrics, melodies & harmonies). Vocal PRODUCING is how you arrange the vocals in totality, stacking, mic quality, stylistic choices. These have to be done together to be the vocal producer, not in isolation. Writing the melody does not make you a vocal producer. There is more required for the role which is why ASCAP split sheets put people who write melodies under "musical composition", an extension of the entire composition which includes lyricism NOT in the vocal production section UNLESS they also did the aforementioned. End of story, sorry weirdo.

  3. Comment

All vocal production is credited as producer credit but not all melodies written on a song fall under vocal production. Beyoncé is contributing to both lead melodies and background vocals. For example, a songwriter wouldn't automatically get vocal production credit just because they came up with the melody of the lyrics they wrote. Vocal production gors beyond that. That falls under their contribution as a writer, or if an adlib, harmonies contains lyrics not in the original demo, that falls under songwriting AND vocal production

I always find it hilarious that Beyonce has been marketing herself as a songwriter when it was already exposed that she just steals credits. Well maybe because of her dad or whatever. Still so shameful.

I mean, I don't listen to Beyonce at all, but it certainly seems like there's a lack of pleasing folks. I'm assuming everyone that's on the list of contributors understands the situation going in. Contracts are like that. They were adults getting into a business venture together. If they didn't like how credits were arranged, why were they in the room in the first place? Why not, instead, work with someone else with a contract closer to what you're looking for? The only people that matter are the people on that list, and I haven't seen anyone come out complaining they were done wrong. Other singers who don't like it aren't even relevant. I worked in a kitchen that split tips. I was a well paid sous and didn't need the tips. I opted out. But if I didn't, the servers weren't complaining. We were all making bank. Later on when I managed things, I was able to get an overall 15% bump, and everyone got paid. The underlying sentiment from some folks is if you removed all the folks that didn't 'contribute' to the songwriting on that list, would you still have the same song as successful as it now is? And to that end, would the songwriters receive as much in royalties if the songs weren't smash hits with less collaboration? And if the answer is that the contributions helped the song, then only removing their names is a disservice. Beyonce seemingly determined that this is an important part of the business she operates.
