Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

The whole thing has a very clear mid-60s pop singer as the world transitioned from Elvis to the Beatles. Back then pop songs by female vocalists had small jazz band feels (like the opening horns and guitar chords) without going too far into jazz at all. It’s a catchy song, but even look at like the crew cut guy straight from the 1950s at one of the desks

Yeah, this smacks of bullshit. Rock and roll was rock and roll. It didn't matter if you were black or white, it was mostly disapproved of in the early years. The US government went as far as drafting Elvis to try and stop the spread of the music. Wolfman Jack broadcast out of Mexico to avoid censorship. Early rock stations were pirate stations. The style and the name of the music carried the negativity, not the color of who was recording it and we remember FAR more black artists from the early days of rock and roll than we do white artists. Even the explanation of "cover up" the original artist sounds artificial. Motown operated under an assembly line principle. You had the song writers, the singers and the band. The same song writer, the same song, the same band, but they'd cut multiple versions of the same song with different singers hoping one of the versions would be a hit. The only thing that changed was the face of who was on the COVER. Same song, different face on the COVER. Far more likely that's where the term came from.

Elvis is king. For some reason, this line from Radio Radio always hits me: Some of my friends sit around every evening And they worry about the times ahead But everybody else is overwhelmed by indifference And the promise of an early bed

You were the spice of life The gin in my vermouth And though the sparks would fly I thought our love was fireproof... I love Elvis 😍😍😍

Dolly was *very* protective of her publishing - it was one of the main drivers of her business and was ultimately what she planned to leave to her family. It makes sense that Jolene stayed under her publishing when Beyonce covered it / did her rendition, as Dolly had pretty standardly kept the publishing whenever that happened with other songs. "I Will Always Love You" is another example here - Dolly wrote it and had 100% publishing. When Elvis's team approached her about him doing a cover, everything got to the day of him actually recording it, and then his manager told her they required her to sign over 50%. She declined, kept the publishing, and any covers had her keep 100% of publishing.
