   I mean, actually Spaniards are Latins. Just like Portuguese people are. Languages just evolve in silly ways but they’re even more Latin than “Latin America”. They’re the og ones.

   Historically, latin referred to the language/cultural sphere derived from the Roman world. That would then include the french, italian, spaniards, portuguese, etc. Latinoamerican would refer to latinos in (south) america. Nowadays latino = latinoamericano, but some people still make that distinction.

   Spaniards are latin (*latinos* in Spanish), not Latino-americans. Latin people are defined as those speaking a Romance language. In Madrid downtown there is neibourhood called "La Latina", called like that since before Europeans arrived to the American continent. So yes, Spanish are latinos and Italians as Romanians.

   She’s not shit at geography. Many Spaniards refer to them selves as “Latino” and literally mean their Latin roots. It’s pretty jarring to hear as a North American but they’re not wrong!
