I thought that the UK had brought in legislation to prevent the resale of tickets for profit. Looks like the Ticket Tout Ban Bill was announced in the Kings Speech this year but is unlikely to come into effect until some time next year. Who knows if it will make a difference in practice.

Olivia Dean performed “Man I Need” and won best new artist at this year’s Grammys, right? Having her win AOTY next year for the same album cycle feels redundant to me.

As much as I want to recommend aftershock it has easily the worst sound of all the festivals I’ve attended. I’ve been eleven times because I lived in Sac so it was super easy. But I’ve been to many dozens of festivals, going back to Woodstock 99. I’m not sure if it’s because they’re so close to the city that they have to keep levels down, but it’s just never impactful sound like you’ll get at a Coachella or an EDM festival. And it’s not the parent company because both Rockville and Louder Than Life sounded great. Something about the sound at Aftershock has just always seemed off to me. I’ve heard Portola is the way to go. Haven’t done it yet. Next year.
