Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

What is this comment section? Of course she knows the difference between Spain and Latin America. Yeah, there are a lot of Latin Americans in Spain. After taking in millions of spaniards throughout the last few centuries, quid pro quo is only fair. And it's possible she decided to go back so her kids can be home instead of potentially being persecuted by ice

A lot of the Latin Americans living in Spain now are descendants of those waves in the 60s and 70s. I'm half Venezuelan and half Colombian. Of my 8 great-grandparents, half were Spaniards who migrated to the Americas in the mid 20 century to either country. And of course, people like me were elegible for Spanish nationality until very recently.

  3. Comment

Idk about racism but xenophobia is absolutely present against Latin Americans by Spaniards. They aren’t going to say it to your face for the most part.

  4. Comment

As of the latest data from the Instituto Nacional de Estadística (INE), exactly **860,957 Spanish-born citizens** live abroad. While the total number of Spanish nationals living outside of Spain is much larger at **3,202,002 people**, the vast majority were actually born outside of Spain. Spaniards were migrating in the 60s and 70s by the millions; the percentage at the time was huge. This massive wave of emigration was primarily driven by the search for better labor opportunities in more industrialized European nations like Germany, France, and Switzerland. During this period, the economic landscape was shaped by these workers who sent significant remittances back home, which played a crucial role in stabilizing the Spanish economy. It wasn't just a minor shift; it was a defining demographic movement that saw a significant portion of the working-age population head north, fundamentally altering the country’s social fabric and paving the way for the eventual transition to a more modern, integrated European state.

  5. Comment

Yeah, that makes sense. And tbh I feel like it's a normal thing.. there are also more Spaniards now living in other countries than 30 years ago, immigration is just an easier thing to do nowadays!
