Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I discovered new music by reading music magazines, the radio, MTV, friends, and browsing music stores, where you could try CD's before you buy them. Sometimes you'd come across some deals on new and used CD's and you'd just take a chance on them if the album cover cover sparked your interest. Still have a collection of about 800 CD's. Sometimes you'd get some hand-me-down cassettes or CD's from an older sibling. I remember receiving a cassette of Public Enemy's Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black album from my older sister's boyfriend, and it blew my mind, as it was the heaviest thing I heard at the time. To a lesser extent, the web, with websites, chat rooms, and message boards. The web as we know it now was only 3 years old back when I was 16 in 1996, and it definitely was not something you spent all day on like today. Currently, I'm coming across new music through Instagram believe it or not.

I'm so glad that social media was still mostly in it's infantcy when I was in school. I remember this kid (don't want to give his name) who died during a football game I was at in high school. He took a bad hit in just the wrong way and died on the field. He was really popular and well liked, the school kind of "shut down" for like a week. It was so sad and weird, even at a school that was pretty big, it hit people a lot. If it had been today, people who didn't even go to our school or live in our state would have probably said awful shit online and made it politcal. I feel bad my kid sister had to grow up in this, but luckily she's a great kid and doesn't really do much social media.

God, I know someone just like her and I reached out to them for a bite to eat today. They said I’m welcome to stay there any time and welcome to anything I need. So kind of them

I know this is really basic but I'll just explain anyway. Pop is my favourite genre of music and I only started really getting into music last year. Lady Gaga was my first interest, most of her stuff brought me joy and I really enjoyed listening to albums like Born This Way, The Fame and MAYHEM. I did overplay her music a bit too much though, I'm not as into her as I was back then probably because of that. Then I moved over to Taylor Swift and became even more a stan for her. She was practically almost the only artist I listened to for months but then the same situation happened with her. However, I still do love her and I honestly will probably get back into her again. After I stopped listening to Taylor for a while, I did actually dive into more pop artists! e.g. PinkPantheress, JENNIE, Madonna (one of my favourites right now), oh and also Björk, and more. Today I listened to Detour by Kim Petras which is a reasonable step out of my comfort zone. Even though I didn't love it, I can respect that album for what it is and I can see why people are really liking it! So yeah, hope this wasn't too much of a yap fest :)
