Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Not sure if you're talking about physical media, digital audio files, downloaded or what... but... Mine is digital, started as MP3 and now very slowly transitioning to FLAC. It started some 20 years ago, when I had to burn CDs to store it. Now MusicBee tells me it's almost 18k tracks, some 174 GBs, and it fits comfortably on my phone (synced with my hard drive). No cloud or streaming involved! Am I hoarding? Maybe, but I don't think so... I constantly prune it by deleting things I downloaded but rarely ever listens to. I have whole discographies for the artists I really like, but when adding new ones I tend to go slowly, looking for the best-rated albums at first, then expanding If it really interests me. I learned to make use of MusicBee's inbox feature, so now whatever I download sits there until I have the chance to give it a proper listen and decide if it really should be added to the library. This also gives me the chance to review and correct the files' tagging to fit my standards, which keeps the library neatly organized. So, if I'd explain "how I collect music", it would be something like this: I constantly gather suggestions and track artists that interest me, then go into the wilderness of YouTube or Spotify to explore their music, then if I decide it's something I wanna re-listen, I proceed to download it and it sits in my Inbox. Then, when I'm in the mood for new music, I reach into the Inbox. When I realize I like something, it gets added to the permanent library (and maybe I'll go search for more of the same artist), and when it's something just sitting there without attracting my attention, It gets deleted. The result is my collection is my default source for good music in any occasion, it follows me everywhere and I never really felt the need to subscribe to some streaming service...

*acquire* fruity loops or something Pick a song you like and try to recreate it. Watch youtube videos on specifics. It's honestly the easiest part of music creation to learn.

YouTube has this weirdness where it's also the Youtube Music platform and they expose \*all\* things as "videos" even if it's just audio. If you go to an artists "Channel" and select the "Releases" tab, you will see all the *audio*, which is often much more than the "Videos" tab. Unfortunately search results will return from \*everything\* and I haven't found a way to filter for either. (The *old* way instead of "Releases" was a second channel "*Artist Name - Topic"* that had only playlists that were their "albums" and "singles" and such. Not everything gets a music video production and I guess throwing on a quickly generated "visualizer" is "better" than a static title card. I've noticed that trend. As the platform doesn't have mechanics to distinguish/filter people have been putting such "metadata" into the title. "Official Video" "Official Visualiser" "Official Audio" etc. – though nothing prevents randos from naming their home remixed thing "Official Video" or whatever. 😕 So one has to look at the channel name and unfold the description and scroll to the bottom as there it will show the "original source" that seems to be based on the YT "rights and revenue management" stuff.

I think there’sa little more nuance, but yeah, no/low budget way of getting the music onto YouTube, make it interesting enough to get views and into the algorithm. A lot of smaller bands will drop an entire album onto YouTube and can get some views, hopefully get some ad revenue etc. Just another way to get into people’s eyes and ears, and a full clip generally isn’t cursory and may not be worth the investment.
