   I don’t think that’s true. Adams, Deblasio, and Bloomberg all did various pension shenanigans to ease budget deficits.

   Face the fact, because it is a fact, NYC like NYS in general is a "welfare state". It's been that way for decades and trend is only growing under socialist/liberal/democrat policies. NYC's total budget for all sorts of social services is larger than entire for some small cities or other local governments. You then have to factor in both at state and local government level NY is run and owed by the unions. NYC government could be modernized four thousand ways from Sunday, but public service unions won't wear it. Rudy G and Bloomberg took good stabs at it, but since B de B onward things have fallen largely flat. Even 311 system and or various online schemes aren't what they seem. Behind scenes it's still same slow bureaucracy as when things were done with paper and pencil. Case in point, one reason property owners and others don't want to get involved with city is because they take effing ages to pay. We're not talking about paying invoices a week or so late, but in many cases months or even years past due.

   Bloomberg and Cuomo did this in 2010 AND 2013. Eric Adams also tried to pass essentially this EXACT policy in early 2025, but failed. Didn't know all three of them were socialists lmao. (Also, in reality, the 2013 Bloomberg/Cuomo restructuring is the direct cause of the current crisis... They structured the 2013 plan with what's called a "variable ascending scale"... so instead of paying a flat rate, NYC's required payments were scheduled to increase massively in the mid-2020s before hitting a sudden cliff in 2032. This was a ticking time bomb... flattening it out into a "level-dollar" plan through 2037 was the only way to avoid a big payment spike.)

   There’s a difference between Trump and Bloomberg doing it and Zohran doing it. Zohran isn’t rich. Do his parents have money? Yeah, but that’s peanuts compared to Michael fucking Bloomberg. Now with Trump, he’s refused a salary, but he’s taken advantage of the office to make billions of dollars.
