Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

True. But this father created the problem. A person violent against society from the beginning, he knowingly placed his child in danger from the beginning of that child's life. Of course the child will be traumatized when removed from him. But that's what child welfare services does when *any* parent poses a danger to their child. Placed with a loving foster/adoptive parent, that beats the likelihood of the child becoming drug-addicted, dissolute, or dead if he remains with such a father(and mother. She, allegedly also sold drugs).

You mean I correctly pointed out the insane disparity between threads about cyclists hitting someone vs cars hitting actual children? I didn't make it "about bikes." Are you going to challenge what I'm saying as not true? You don't think there would be a very different reaction if a cyclist hit the kids? If you don't think that then you're just upset I'm pointing out the truth or you have some weird hand-wringing about "it's not the right time to bring up the fact that these people don't care about safety."

I’m not equating those things, there really are people who want to ban them. But yeah licensure is dumb. You want me to get a license to ride a bike. That’s the most unamerican shit I’ve ever heard. Jesus it’s amazing how this is a thread about a car hitting children and you’re all over it with your apologia and now you’re actively attacking cyclists.

I do insurance verification for specialists in a major hospital and I hate the days when I have to work all Medicaid cases, especially in the first half of a month. Sooo many people finding out they don't have insurance anymore, majority of them latino, and I have to call them using a medical interpretation service when their insurance verification comes back terminated. It's especially sad when the patient is a child and they're now going to have to cancel an appointment for a specialist. They often ask me why, or what they should do and all I can do is give them the phone number for the medicaid help line.

Not the majority of them. Most of them were civilians. Women, children, families. Let’s not downplay it like people do with October 7th. Both are horrifying tragedies
