   Face the fact, because it is a fact, NYC like NYS in general is a "welfare state". It's been that way for decades and trend is only growing under socialist/liberal/democrat policies. NYC's total budget for all sorts of social services is larger than entire for some small cities or other local governments. You then have to factor in both at state and local government level NY is run and owed by the unions. NYC government could be modernized four thousand ways from Sunday, but public service unions won't wear it. Rudy G and Bloomberg took good stabs at it, but since B de B onward things have fallen largely flat. Even 311 system and or various online schemes aren't what they seem. Behind scenes it's still same slow bureaucracy as when things were done with paper and pencil. Case in point, one reason property owners and others don't want to get involved with city is because they take effing ages to pay. We're not talking about paying invoices a week or so late, but in many cases months or even years past due.

   It's the biggest local Democratic org in the country, and it's been cartoonishly corrupt forever. Every leader for decades has been handpicked by their predecessor via proxy vote, rule shenanigans, outright fraud, secret meetings, you name it. They only get ousted when they attract too many legal troubles. They sit in a lobster restaurant every year and decide among themselves who will be civil court judges. They have supported Republicans against Democrats who have challenged them internally. It's pure corruption and personal power all the way down. These people have no principles other than getting theirs. This is so important. The two most powerful Democrats in the country came from this organization. If you ever wondered why Hakeem Jeffries never asked Eric Adams to resign, it's because they're from the same spawning pool. They're each others guy from way back. If you've ever wondered why the NY state party can lose seats in a national blue wave election and get away with changing nothing, it's because their most important constituent org is like this. We have deserved better for a long time, Rodneyse & co. can go [pound sand]

   His reasoning echoes the usual suspects. “He’s Muslim, therefore he did 9/11, also he wants to tax people who made money on the backs of the working class because socialized anything is bad for America, although when I went to birthright in Israel and broke my arm, the healthcare was free. Also I’m a Democrat but only if it benefits my portfolio.” Shit that WAS exhausting. I need a nap.
