Comparing robotaxis to the for-hire fleet they would most likely replace is a better comparison. Waymo's fleet has not yet driven enough miles to support that they are safer than for hire vehicle drivers. These initial severe crash metrics warrant significant caution and further scrutiny. This is especially relevant as robotaxi companies continue to push forward for full authorization in cities and states across the country, including New York.

   But Mississippi did not slash their education funding by 50% to improve educational outcomes, did they? Because that would be straight nonsense and we both understand that would not be the logical conclusion of that policy. In fact, Mississippi’s improved outcomes followed additional funding. You want to punish New York for poor educational outcomes by slashing funding while simultaneously citing Mississippi as an example why, even though that’s absolutely not what happened there.

   Mississippi does a better job teaching their black kids to read and write than california's black kids and they spend very little. *A Black Mississippi child is two and a half times as likely to be proficient in reading by fourth grade as a Black California child.* *What’s particularly impressive is that the Southern surge states lifted student achievement with only modest budgets. Spending per pupil in Alabama and Mississippi was below $12,000 in 2024, while in New York it was almost $30,000.* Blue states are failing their kids in education because they think its about money. Leftwing governance has been an absolute disaster. Bring back centrist democrats.
