You can go back and look at historic press releases from the mayors office. You’ll see that Mamdani phrases everything this way and Adams did it quite a bit as well. But prior to that, it was usually phrased as “NYC does….”. The last two mayors have had much bigger egos than previous ones.

Who do you think pays the taxes that feeds and houses the people in need? The entitlement is wild in NYC. Middle and upper class people pay for all the “free” shit the city hands out to those in need. Yet somehow they are viewed as the problem or their wants and needs can just be disregarded. They are the ones actually supporting people, not slimy politicians. You should be thanking them.

if a pt meets the poverty line , they suppose to get access to medicaid or nyc cares if they can provide a id , address and a paystub or letter of support .

Did the same calculation and figured out the value isn't there with our first kid. Moved family out of our condo, moved overseas and can fund basically our entire family expenses with nyc rental income. Still work, but more free time and fun enrichment activities we can easily afford. Never looked back but been returning for a period biannually for business and family.
