Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

With billions in federal healthcare cuts, I’m very pessimistic of any significant help. I think NYC has voiced and prioritized it at some level, but the ask would need to be for access to the giant pot of Medicaid money that specifically has a rule against this (IMD exclusion). We have relocation programs all across the country to move homeless people out of bad situations into more stable environments. If NYC offered a comprehensive, stable solution for the mentally ill, why would they go anywhere else? They are already attracted to the social services and mass transit systems provided now.

FBI and NYPD did a press conference earlier…he’s an anti-ICE protester, had an ‘ICE out of nyc’ sign on his cart and may have had a manifesto in his bag.

How is a terrorist attack happen in the heart of NYC, it’s a major national news story and it gets barely any traction on the NYC subreddit?

  4. Comment

Depends on how much federal govt would help but that still falls on the shoulders of NYC leadership to voice and prioritize asking for funding from the federal government. I don't think all the crazies would be shipped here to overwhelm the system. What makes you say that?
