That was actually kinda the reason why hamas did what they did in oct 7. rest of the middle east are/were normalizing relations with israel. it was their shot to start another conflict with israel and look how the topic israel is polarizing right now to the point that the israel palestine topic has been uncomfortable topic for democrats now.
