   Doctors are not systematic reviews. In this case systematic reviews examined the best available evidence in studies about youth gender medicine and this is one of them - \- which found insufficient evidence and recommended the provision for puberty blockers and CSHT as part of "experimental" individual treatment. When there are clinical questions about what medical treatments should be provided systematic reviews that are considered "gold standard" are done. No doctor can treat patients based on what they learnt in medical school and not take the latest evidence from systematic reviews into account.

   Several countries have done systematic reviews and they all show insufficient/weak evidence to support the prescription of puberty blockers and CSHT to youth. Gold standard systematic reviews are NOT just one study. Instead systematic review examine several studies with the best available evidence. Here is one such systematic review conducted by Sweden. Evidence to assess the effects of hormone treatment on the above fields in children with gender dysphoria is insufficient. To improve future research, we present the GENDHOR checklist, a checklist for studies in gender dysphoria. # Key Notes * This systematic review assessed psychosocial effects, bone health, body composition and metabolism, and therapy persistence in children (<18 years of age) with gender dysphoria undergoing treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogues (GnRHa). * **Long-term effects of hormone therapy on psychosocial health are unknown.    No, again read the actual goddamn article. The children in the study were *already doing well prior to the treatment*. And they continued to do well afterwards. So we know from this small sample size that puberty blockers *may* not improve mental health outcomes for children who are currently in good circumstances, *and nothing else*. It doesn't say anything about children who are *not* doing well beforehand, nor does it suggest that outcomes following puberty blockers had negative effects on the children who took them. And it also doesn't prove that this study is necessarily reflective of the general population. People with no understanding of what scientific studies mean shouldn't be using them for political ammunition, because it breeds misunderstanding of the actual facts. The fact that you clearly aren't even reading the article you yourself posted couldn't be better proof of this.

   I’m not debating whether cross sex hormones or puberty blockers are gender affirming care. Can you show me a well regarded medical association that classifies hair transplants as gender affirming care?

   My family doctor growing up would write me a note anytime I didn’t want to go to school -> therefore, doctors will prescribe and administer puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy to minors not when medically necessary, but when any minor asks for it. Do you see how flawed that is?
