Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

I mean, there is one reason. This one is Jews. And even if you don't want to think that anti semitism drives this outsized attention... A coinciding explanation is that Israelis are (mistakenly) considered to be "white" and the western left-leaning world loves to scream when, in their view, white people are being bad. Most of the other hideous wars and tragedies worldwide are black and brown people fighting and killing other black and brown people and the social justice warriors just don't give a shit. Why? Because their capacity to study issues in detail is non-existent. It's easy for them to identify white people as the aggressor and the villain and to start screaming about it. But if it's two different groups of black or brown people half the planet doesn't even understand who the good guys and the bad guys are. And sometimes, when it's clear that the bad guys are a group of black or brown people, there's another weird leftist aversion to calling it out because they don't ever want to criticize black or brown people, no matter what. In our woke world of social justice activism, the only people who ever act badly are white. And if you can't easily fit something into your cookie cutter world view of war, you just ignore it. So most people ignore so much.

I think your description of the groups needs some more nuance added. First, the second group tends to be the leaders of overall movement. Similarly, your first that group tends to tolerate if not welcome members of the second, provided that they keep their hate to themselves. You can decide on your own if that’s acceptable. Second, the first group has little tolerance for Zionists who are *also* upset by the brutality of this war and who are similarly in favor of Palestinian statehood. In this case, I think this is patently unacceptable. If you care about the lives of Palestinians, excluding people who also care about their lives because they don’t need some sort of purity test actively harms Palestinians. Taking collectively, you can see why the nuance matters. By and large, the “free Palestine” movement is defined more about one’s stance on Israel and Zionism than on Palestinian freedom.

fine I'll do your work for you classic mamdami supporter wanting to benefit off others Subject of Criticism: Rama Duwaji, an illustrator and the wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, has faced scrutiny from political critics over past social media and Instagram posts related to Israel and Palestinian resistance. [ 1, 2] Content of Posts: Reports and critics (such as accounts highlighted by The Washington Free Beacon) pointed to past social media content, including: An August 2019 Instagram post featuring her grandfather, Khalil Ahmed Abu-Osba, holding a rifle and describing his resistance actions during the British Mandate in Palestine. Pro-Palestinian artwork and graphics, including imagery depicting Israel as a skull with dead Palestinians, references to a "Zionist state," and the phrase "From the river to the sea". Commentary criticizing Israeli cultural branding, such as objections to "Israeli salad". [ 1] Timing of the Backlash: The resurfaced posts drew renewed attention alongside criticisms of Mayor Mamdani's public statements regarding the anniversary of the October 7 attacks. Critics argued his framing downplayed the October 7 killings while emphasizing the war in Gaza, while supporters defended his focus on humanitarian conditions and peace. [ 1, 2, 3] Mamdani's Response: Mayor Mamdani has defended his wife—an artist whose work frequently explores diasporic and Middle Eastern themes—stating that while his political record is open to critique, his family should be off-limits. there ya go Mr. lazy

Nah one of the main reasons is the nyc public school system sucks these days due to its ever long war on tracking. Unless you get into a feeder school in grade and middle that gives you a chance at the better screened/tested HS - why bother with nyc public school and paying all this taxes and put up with x and take your chances at the failing local.

NYC DOE continued war on tracking has done more harm then good. Time to end it. If we start opening highly screened schools middle age (or earlier if possible) and up by ability in black and brown neighborhoods, they be a hit and every parent would want their kid in those schools. Doesn't matter if have to pool multiple nearby neighborhoods/district to get a class. No one will care what the demographics are in those schools as long they fostering their promising kids locally and in time fix the performance gap that's quite evident. Just like DOE age long war against phonics been disastrous and only now they realize their mistakes but never admit it. We should segregate by ability vs race and those black and brown neighborhoods desperate want this.
