Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

lol I appreciate your concern, but my teeth are in otherwise great shape, they’re just flat. I carry stress in my jaw so it’s a constant struggle, but getting my anxiety under control has helped a lot.

Be got bipolar 2 and it can be very difficult to deal with, especially before your diagnosed. My flavor of bipolar gets hypomania, not mania, but both types are destructive to your life. (Btw, psychiatrist’s most commonly prescribe an antidepressant to trigger hypomania to diagnose bipolar 2. We often get misdiagnosed with depression, adhd or anxiety.) The euphoric aspect isn’t fun, even though it seems like it. You’re doing things that are harmful to you you’re reckless with your life (ie money, situations you’re in, how you deal with family and friends). Anger, irritability and overstimulation are also a part of mania/hypomania, but that’s not talked about because no one wants to glamorize it, it’s not fun to talk about. The depression aspect sometimes gets romanticized. It’s horrible, it’s soul sucking. You have no energy (unlike mania/hypomania where you have so much energy), you literally cannot do anything. You lose interest in anything, even eating takes effort sometimes. For a lot of us, suicide just seems better because it ends the awful cycle. Sometimes, meds and therapy aren’t enough. Achieving stability doesn’t happen for everyone. I’ve worked really fucking hard to achieve my stability. I’ve got meds that work. I’ve done therapy (bipolar group therapy, EMDR therapy for my cPTSD, various other therapies). I also ended up doing early retirement. Initially I stopped working because of an injury, but I realized that not working was actually helping me to maintain my mental health. Hope this helps. ETA: I think the reason you’re getting downvoted is because you said tried to off himself”. While it’s insensitive, as someone who has attempted, I use dark humor when referring to it. I’m not bothered by your bluntness, but a lot of people don’t like hearing people be blunt.

One thing boarding school proponents never seem to address: Why are boarding school alums more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression as adults compared to their day school counterparts? And why do studies show that students who display stronger narcissistic/antisocial personality traits are more likely to attend boarding schools than day schools?

Same. I feel like my anxiety would be in overdrive.

This. I had really bad pre-natal depression and anxiety with my first especially (it was peak pandemic, and I wasn’t someone who coped with the pandemic changes very well, so that was a huge part of it) and to a lesser extent with my second as well (no lockdowns and shit then, but I still had to stop taking my usual meds and took SSRIs instead which don’t really do much for me). I remember with my first I’d been through all of that, and then some pretty huge borderline traumatising life stuff in the last month as well. Then I was there in the hospital being (at that point unsuccessfully) induced. I vividly remember when I was there sitting on the yoga ball thing and thinking “I just want to die, I wish I was dead”. So angry at the world and so hopeless. But not because I was about to be in labour, or because I was about to have a baby - but because I just couldn’t bring myself to care about that. Not nervous or afraid or excited, or any of the other stuff that made sense and I thought I should feel, just… angry and passively suicidal and desperately sad. So it’s always weird because I talk about bad times postnatal, but people talk about when it “kicked in” after. For me it was just… a context shift in an already present struggle? But no one seems to talk about that.
