   Yup. Anyone who thinks this is callous should actually read about her crime. I’m sensitive to this kind of stuff and would 99% of the time be like “this has gone too far” but the murder of an innocent young woman? A scumbag like this removing someone from society who actually could’ve done some good in it? Hell is too good.

   Especially this murder in particular. It’s not like she’s getting executed for killing her abuser, she and her boyfriend lured a young woman out into the woods and tortured her for hours before killing her. For no reason at all. I never thought I’d be like “torture is fine” but in her specific case… I don’t know, Christa Pike seemed to enjoy torture when it wasn’t her ass on the line.

   Sure. I personally think if you kill someone (not including self defense or accidentally), I don’t care if the state kills you. And I’m sure there’s a lot of words people could call that opinion or me for having that opinion. That’s cool. But, yeah, I’m a bit eye for an eye-ish. You murder someone, but you outlive them while you’re making buddies in prison. Please.

   I have an enormous amount of sympathy for the Wells family, but there’s a difference between not receiving answers and not liking the answers that you’ve received. At this point there has been a public investigation, a private investigation, two autopsies, and a grand jury. There’s no evidence of foul play. (And no, suspicions and conjecture don’t count. I’m talking about things like witnesses, DNA, blood. You can’t arrest somebody for murder because they lawyered up, or because their mom’s a judge.) Another investigation is unlikely to make much of a difference. At the end of the day, what happened to Nolan is completely, horrifically unfair. But just because it’s unfair doesn’t mean that somebody is responsible for it, and I worry that this is starting to veer into “punishing Nolan’s friends because they survived and he didn’t” territory. Like if we’re going to open a whole other investigation, there needs to be a real reason why, and I’m just not seeing one.
