   Unfortunately, this is not an uncommon thing in a hispanic household. My cousin was 14 when she started dating her ex bf at the time who was definitely older than 18. Our family allowed it for the simple fact that she would just sneak out and be with him no matter what they did. I guess it seemed safer for them to at least be in the know. Very disgusting and horrible example to set as parents.

   If that’s your biggest argument, wouldn’t that be the same for everything she shares on the internet? Why’s it only now an issue when she’s airing marital issues? She’s been a public figure for a long time now sharing intimate details. What about when she talks about her private areas and pubes, etc? Pooping during childbirth? Political views? Are we going to censor women sharing anything that their children could be embarrassed/ashamed of or possibly impact them now/at any later date? She’s not shared anything about her children’s experience- she’s shared her own, which is consistent with how she has run her platform for years. My point was that it’s nuanced and you have no idea the conversations that she’s had with her children about it. Parents should have age appropriate conversations with their children, and she seems like the type of person who does have respect for her children and would consider/weigh their needs (though I, of course, cannot confirm this). And if there needs to be adjustments to any action made based on the growing needs/opinions of her children as they age, parents adapt. I can’t think of a single parent who has not made decisions *they feel* is best for an 8 year old and then re-considers as the child matures and communicates their needs- that’s a healthy part of parenting, yet you’re acting like it’s this black-and-white thing. Just because you have an opinion about what’s best for you/your children doesn’t mean that it’s blanket what’s best for all. It again just comes across as unnecessarily judgmental when you know very few of the facts.

   If they have kids those kids are going to have such amazing photos and documentation of their parents entire romance. I remember the “my MJ” post sent rumors into overdrive.

   Discord has been used by a lot of teenagers to communicate with their friends and classmates since Covid. Yes parents should monitor the communities their kids join, but not allowing them to use the app at all is kinda stupid. What kids need is to be educated about online privacy as soon as possible. I taught my daughters to use pseudonyms, never post personal info in public spaces, and be wary of people they meet online. It has served them well.
