sure, that could be part of it. but it seems they’re using songs by a multitude of pop artists in hope of eliciting some form of reaction from them, likely because the “drama” garners more viewership from curious onlookers. it’s frankly very gross to see such fun pop anthems being used as soundtracks to people being detained and countries blowing up
