   For Amazon Prime to gain exclusive broadcasting rights for the PL they would have to fork upwards of £20+b, it would be an unprecedented deal. The only comparable deal to this would be Netflix’s botched offer for Warner Bros; but that was for their whole backcatalogue and IP, whereas £20+b would only get you PL rights for the next cycle (3-5 years). Not to mention the PL likes the current auction setup for broadcasting and are not likely to favour a single broadcaster system, they have plans for direct broadcasting platform themselves as currently testing in Singapore, the deal itself would be complex as the cycles differ and currently negotiated per country/region, and finally Bezos is taking a minority stake in Liverpool and not showing any inclination of a full broadcasting takeover. With the amounts of money we’re talking about it would actually be cheaper for Bezos to buy outright the 20 PL clubs and thus the PL (not that they’d allow it).

   You don't get Bezos wealthy writing cheques. This is not sports washing. This is acquire and run on the smallest margins for the biggest profit, then sell when empty.

   It’s not just about the ‘billionaire’ it’s what type of billionaire you are allowing in to the house. Bezos and Amazon are what are called predatory businesses their model is to buy everything in a market so then they can strangle the consumer and they have nowhere else to go. The latter stage of these businesses is then to sell an inferior product as the only option. Starbucks is this model, they spent years taking out short term leases often taking huge losses in major cities but with the idea that eventually they kill off all the other competitors. Once that’s achieved, they shut down a lot of their locations because they now control the area. Then they jack up prices and lower the quality of the product because there is barely anywhere else to go. Let Bezos into Liverpool and soon he will own half the major clubs in Europe and likely we see Super Leagues put in place or just eventually him saturating all other clubs too
