   Relatively simple. If their results against City changed their league position then they can show material loss. And it wouldn't be compensation is would be damages claimed in court. City has been found guilty of 114 counts of cheating. Whatever penalty the PL apply, it will be dwarfed by the damaged claimed in court by every team they've played against since this started (much like Burnley vs Everton- thats a £35m claim from one club and £19m of financial irregularity by Everton). Its a pretty open and shut case against Citeh now the guilty verdicts have dropped. PL teams get, roughly, £1m per table position, so to show loss, you just have to show the team that cheated changed your league position. Not going to be hard. Then the CL income missed, cup income, knock on sales, relegation, etc. Nothing heroetic about the gymnastics. There is solid legal precedent, ample evidence of cheating and the financials are big numbers in each and every case. One team getting a cash boost from this means no other team can stand back and just accept the PL punishment as the end of it. It will be like vultures on a carcass. City's liabilities make them an absolutely toxic purchase, they are unsellable. Administration and bankruptcy would be the only way to close off those liabilities. Hence the prediction that only a phoenix club comes out of this.

   Of course, leaving Maine Road was one thing I wish never happened. That atmosphere and community was unreal. Never had anything like it at the Etihad, you only get it at away games. If I had it my way we’d still be at Maine Road. But man I would never have ever, ever imagined we’d have been competing for the CL let alone winning it. Unreal, and honestly not sure I could say if it’s worth it or not. I miss being a proper football club, grassroots, United were the ‘corporation’ we were the club for the locals. Proper fuck the big clubs type. Ironic how it turned out lol. But not worth it? Not sure. Apart from the reputation we lost, if we go back to how it was, then we’ll just be in the same position we would’ve been in without the takeover. City’s built up the local area quite a bit around the Etihad too so swings and roundabouts

   Sorry, either you misunderstood me or I wasn't clear enough. City was overinflating it's revenue, in order to be able to spend more of its own money. They weren't really greatly outspending the league, their spending was roughly on par with United and Chelsea. And they haven't like stolen money from anyone or anything. They got around the system that was stoping them from spending their own money and being competitive with top club. Just like Newcastle isn't allowed to be competitive despite obviously having money. A lots of people want to pretend that it's the worse offense in sporting history, I don't. Sure punish them for breaking the rules, but also maybe get rid of the rules that are forcing Villa to sell their best players for FFP purposes even when they qualify for CL. While genuinely bottom-5 Spurs are splurging 500m like it's nothing. So there you go, I simply hate FFP closing the shop with a burning passion.

   Not true, similarly to city they ended up with players they shouldn't have had. They gave out underhanded payments to agents and family members of players to get them to sign, hazard and ramires were 2 of those players, hazard is arguably their best ever player, he was POTS for them in 2 premier league winning seasons and ramires was vital in 2012 to help them win the CL, they are just as bent as city and both are cancers to the league and sport, thankfully both of them being found guilty means their success is ultimately meaningless.

   I’ve read elsewhere that the PL clubs aren’t looking for retrospective action but for future sanctions. I strongly disagree. At the very least they need to be stripped of multiple titles. Any future sanctions needs to be long lasting. Not just one or two seasons. I’d go for a 10-15 point reduction for each of the next 6/7 years. That means it will be hard to reach CL places and almost impossible to win titles.
