Unless you are saying Anderson was good enough which I'd say no to that as well. Like I said there is a reason why the best midfield 3 that you guys had around that time was when Carrick, Mata and Matic were available but Moyes was missing the Matic part who was levels above. \> So? Like to put it in modern terms, I love Schar, he is super solid as a CB but he isn't a top of the PL CB and never has been. He has a lot of the tools needed but there are a few things missing that would make him be a top player. \> Fergie won the title by 12 points and then retired. And like I said the team next year was missing Scholes, Giggs was at the end of his career and a team that was pretty meh under Ferguson. Ferguson could get away with some shaky players that not many other managers can do. I'll put it to you this way, if you had a team made up entirely of people at the level of John O'Shea where would you finish, I don't mean a team full of John O'Shea clones just a team of people around his level. You finish maybe 14th in the PL. You'd play alright but get cleaned out when it matters. Compare that with Carrick who isn't some all time greatest player ever in the PL or anything, you win the league with a team at the level of Carrick.

Just look at how different the team looked when Matic came in. Mata did well but he wasn't great at defending. If you are relying on the likes of Fletcher for your first team at that level you aren't going to do well. \> Smalling Smalling was never ever even remotely in the same universe at the same skill level as the likes of Ferdinand and Vidic. Smalling if he came from Blackburn he would have had almost the same career as he did coming from Man Utd because he was never that great, he went to Italy did alright but he was never on the level required for the ambition of a team at the top of the league. \> Jones Same as Smalling really. \>He didnt need to build an empire, just not ruin it. The empire was already ruined. He came in and didn't get backed and it withered away. Blame ownership. Moyes to this day is a solid manager at PL level and has made bad teams better when he has gotten any backing. A lot of the later managers of Man Utd were easily worse after spending more money. It is like the reverse of what happened with Slot at Liverpool. Slot inherited a pretty good team, made a few nice signings and won the league, then was shit afterwards because the squad he wanted to build was shit. Moyes inherited a shit squad and did shit and everyone blamed him for it. \> Fletcher was a regular starter for us under fergie Great, so was Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Nicky Butt, Jesper Blomqvist...etc you aren't going to be seriously talking about any of those players being worthy of carrying one of the biggest clubs int he world on their back. I wouldn't take John O'Shea at Newcastle in his peak in our current squad, why? Because he was bang average but useful for the squad. They are fine as squad players but like Carrick is a great example of the difference in levels between these players. You want like 2 people of Carrick's level, you want 2 people of Fletcher's level to be 3rd in line so not even 2nd in line, 3rd. \> Plus we won the title by 12 odd points, ao if our squad was hot garbage what does that say of the rest of the league. You forget that Scholes came out of retirement that year because the squad was that thin for talent in midfield.

   Moyes is a C level manager. He's never been near a big club since United. Why do you think that is? He's basically the guy that gets brought in to try and keep teams from relegation, not win titles. He's never hired in that capacity for good reason.
