Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Same reason many other PL clubs have overpaid for Bundesliga players, they repeatedly fail to account for the true difference in quality and wrongly assume players will easily transition and replicate what they’ve been doing in the Prem. Only the truly outstanding players with outstanding stats perform as well in the Prem like Haaland and de Bruyne, which is also true for most leagues, eg. Bruno Fernandes from the Portuguese league or Luis Suarez from the Eredivisie. These guys stick out like sore thumbs, though. In the past decade, there are probably about 20 players signed by PL clubs from the Bundesliga for significant transfer fees that have been either total failures or relative failures to their transfer fee.

Again, selective memory, narrow cherry picking and (kind of) recency bias. Yes Arsenal had two seasons in eighth place, but besides that they haven't been outside of the top six since 1994. Liverpool have... a lot. I say "kind of" recency bias, because *recently* Liverpool have literally finished outside of the top four twice in the last four years - which is what everyone used to mock Arsenal for trying to avoid. And one of those was this year, directly after winning the title and still spending half a billion more. I really don't know how you can't call that a relatively "atrocious 'off' season", if you're being honest. If Arsenal "only won a diluted league", what does that make the team 25 points back? Going from 1st to 5th and 25 points off the winners is objectively a worse drop than finishing 8th place only 6 points behind 4th place, as Arsenal did in 20-21. It's simply not as drastic of a fall. Calling out a couple of seasons where Arsenal finished eighth, in the small, medium, *and* big picture is kind of silly. I know that Liverpool thinks they are co-king's during city's ill-gained title runs 2017-24, but the reality is they basically did just about what Arsenal did in the last several years - four seasons 2nd/3rd place and one title with a 4th and 5th place as bookends. Like I said, Liverpool are absolutely one of the top teams in England historically, but in the Prem in the last 30 years, they are most certainly not better better overall than Arsenal, and their "bad seasons" are absolutely just as bad, if not even relatively worse and more of them.

Seeing the potential of the league, vultures from around the world jumped in a long time ago. Saudis, Americans, Emiratis all want a slice of the pie. I understand everyone here agrees that Emirati oil money is solely to be blamed for the destruction of the league. But I'd like to point also to the Americans that owns the like of Wrexham, Birmingham, Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, Leeds, Brighton et cetera are here for a reason. I'll also tell you what happens in the future: Football popularity will go up. Ticket prices will go up. Locals will be priced out because the clubs won't be local anymore. Prem ticket prices will go head-to-head with the NFL, NBA etc. And you can't do anything about it. Streaming services will cost more. Prem will become a closed-shop, or some form of European Super League will form to rival the Prem.

The beginning? Half of the teams in the Prem have Americans with majority stakes.

“The richest club in the league” is the one with the highest revenues…that’s how the financial rules work in the Prem
