Because they’re a FIFA member, simple as that. Okay, let’s say the war and genocide end. There’s a two-state solution put in place. Does Israel stay in UEFA? Or are we saying that it’s only countries we don’t like don’t get to play international football? Spain and Gibraltar are not allowed to play each other. So do we expel one of them?

Yank here, so definitely missing some cultural context, but from these comments it seems common place for people to waste beer by dumping/throwing it at others? What’s the rationale behind this? I’ve been to every type of sporting event we have in the states, many home games and many many games in enemy territory, and I’ve never seen such shenanigans as a common behavior. ETA: I’ve seen lots of MLS games (never in LA tho), USA v Spain (but never v Mexico), I did not make it to the WC this year but I did in 2014, and I’ve never been to an oasis gig before. The one time I did see someone pour a beer on another guy, the beer pourer was obnoxiously drunk, got his ass pummeled (his buddies stood silent and let him get what he had coming) and then security tossed his drunk, beaten ass out of the stadium to the cheers of both home and away fans
