Still think the funniest one of these is when Newcastle sold Anderson to Forest for £35m, and Forest sold Vlachodimos (their third choice keeper) to Newcastle for £20m on the same day in 2024 Anderson ended up then going for a fortune this summer, Vlachodimos made one sub appearance in the league cup and has been at Sevilla on loan since 2025…

I’ll add that they’ve spent MASSIVE this summer rebuilding their midfield in preparation for this. They know what is coming.

Yeah, watched loads of games in plenty of different pubs this summer, no one ever threw a pint or needed plastic. It’s just the places full of poseurs like boxpark, but they aren’t at all representative of most places or most fans. I’ve watched City lose in packed pubs outside Anfield when Liverpool have been in a title race with them and play the same day, was big celebrations but never saw a single pint get thrown. That’s a lot more representative of match going fans than some divvies watching England in a fan zone

I feel like they may have used the method in the article last year to sign players like Chekri and Alt Nouri, but they cannot claim they're doing all this to identify players when they've now spent over £300 million to rebuild their midfield this summer, that's the opposite of data analysis it's doing the obvious thing
