It’s a very euro centric view to think he should just go to Serie A… it’s not the 90’s anymore and Serie A isn’t the draw it once was. A lot of good players have made the move to Turkey in recent years like Osimhen, Jhon Duran, Asensio, Sane, Skriniar etc. It’s hardly a washed league and Turkey has a lot of rich history and Islamic culture. 98% of the country is Muslim, and they have famous Islamic landmarks like the Blue Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque, Ottoman architecture etc. Trabzonspor finished 3rd last year and are the most successful club outside of Istanbul, and won the league 7 times. It’s a good challenge for him. It makes a lot of sense to me he went there over Italy. But yeah the 17 million reasons why could be a big pull too.
