   They bought a player who excelled as a maverick. Had a lot of freedom and a lot of the ball and turned him into a system player. It didn't work. They should have bought someone for the half the price who would have fit the system better from the off. I'd take him back at villa this year in a second though

   You’re not really saying anything here though. Other than PL money spurs aren’t penalized for finishing 17th. They finished far lower than villa and massively outspent them this summer. You seem to think that on pitch finishes somehow equates to struggle or not. It’s a far more comprehensive argument than that. I’m sure Villa and Newcastle fans would take a 17th place finish if the overall revenues and management of their club enabled them to spend 200 mil this summer. And you can mock the 17/20 stat all you want, but that matters from a recruiting POV. How have spurs been negatively impacted in anyway by finishing 17th? Got RDZ who is highly rated and 5 proven PL players already this window.

   I mean I get it. Similar to copyright law I suppose in that every case of infringement must be challenged. Doesn't mean the rest of us have to like it. The main issue for me was highlighted in your initial point and one that a lot of Forest fans use to defend him. I don't think he's entertaining at all, I think he comes across as a manipulative bully. I get you've got to bat for your guy. I don't think most fans appreciate what he's done for your club since the takeover. He promised precise objectives and achieved them all, something one owner in a thousand might do. I get that in a world that allows journalist killing petrostates to own clubs, he's probably small fry and that no club (even my own beloved, Rwanda promoting Villa) is free from the trappings of maniacal owners. Doesn't change how I feel about him though. We're allowed differing levels of despair and hatred for it all.

   lets be fair all jokes and laughs. villa aint winning it, but i could see Chelsea and united rising from the ashes for a stunning battle while the likes or arsenal Liverpool and city tail off for a bit. Stuff like that usually happens out of nowhere without anyone expecting it coming. Looking forward to the season, but, can we have Tieleman's back now please? it was funny for a while.
