[acne] reoccurring red dots around nose - help - Hello! I am 25 F and I have gotten these red dots on and off in the last 3 years. I have no idea why. The red dots look very similar to pictures of Perioral dermatitis. I don’t understand why it keeps coming back. They will go away for a few weeks and then come back for a couple weeks to a month or two. But there is nothing that changes in that time! I make no substantive changes to my routine, skin wise and daily life, during that time. My skin is normal, some oily skin on and around my nose. I rarely had any acne issues or any skin issues my entire life until this. I have tried to stop waxing my upper lip to see if that helps. Currently I use: Cleanser used every morning and night- C’era ve foaming facial cleanser Morning - cera ve vitamin C serum C’era ve ultralight moisturizer with sunscreen 30 Night - Paula’s choice pore-reducing toner with niacinamide C’era ve resurfacing retinol serum C’era ve ultra light PM moisturizing lotion \*2 weeks ago I started putting on the ordinary’s azelaic acid suspension 10% but there has been no change to address it if it was Perioral dermatitis \*\*Every 10 ish days to 2 wks: Paula’s choice bHA liquid exfoliant I am so tired of this. I keep trying to remove steps from my routine, put more or less product in that area, but nothing changes. Does anyone know what it could be??

I wouldn’t . Dont skip out on the nourishing aspects. Im not a believer in big actives . But I think many of us have had our experience our skin hurting or showing it and think how that byoma milky toner was a step back to normalcy but also felt nourishing. Even randomly well people has a snow mushroom lightweight moisturizer. It is really hydrating and my skin looks less dull, fatigued . Honestly your skin looks good I wasn’t sure if you’re saying it doesnt. And some of this is made to feel like we can do or undo and it was a pne time dermatologist visit and a pill for a few weeks I believe and that replaces 3 years my mom took me to a facials to torture me for no result.

[Routine Help] helppp - Sorry in advance for the yap: Im 19 and I took Accutane when I was 14-15. It really helped! But in summer 2024 I had a bad flare up. At the time, it looked like acne and felt like acne - except it would hurt and itch and nothing could stop it. I went to dermatologists and allergists multiple times and they kept giving me acne products - like face washes that would dry my skin out and gels that are used to make pimples flat. But I knew this wasn't acne! In winter it went away. Then again in summer 2025 it came back even worse. I would have an itchy nose, get painful bumps around my mouth and nostrils, acne-like HUGE (painful) pimples on my chin and cheeks. (I think they were pimples because they'd have pus.) I gave up going to more doctors because they kept saying it was acne. My sister, training to be a dermatologist, also told me the same thing. I might get a lot of hate for this... but I sent pictures of my skin to **chatgpt** in the end. It recommended me two ointments and I was like what the hell i'll just try it. Lucky for me I had one of them at home - a big ol' jar of **QV ointment for extra sensitive skin**. Instant relief. My pimples went away within a week. A WEEK. My whole face stopped hurting and itching - but of course, the allergy-like stuffy nose/sinus symptoms remained. The theory i came to in the end was that when my skin touched dust, it would have these severe reactions (hence the itchy and stuffy nose), and the QV ointment provided a thick barrier to this dust. (tho I tried the same with vaseline and it didnt work.) And in winter, where I live, there's less dust, and my reaction stops completely (both skin and sinus-wise). I figured this out while moving stuff from storage/cleaning dusty furniture and getting dust on my skin lol. So, here's the thing: if i miss even a ***single*** spot on my face while applying the ointment, I get a pimple there. It's irritating. And now I'm fully sure i have deep Closed Comedones on my jaw, cheeks and chin - and i'd really like to get rid of them. But **I cant use anything without slathering QV on top** lest I want a breakout. And I havent used anything but QV and sunscreen throughout summer. I can only do the skincare I want in winter because I dont have any breakouts then lol - but even then the products I use are really gentle and hydrating. This is what I have on hand: Cerave daily moisturiser QV ointment Panoxyl face wash (10%) - **I havent used this yet** Beauty of joseon (have been using this brand for 3 years, super gentle and makes my skin hydrated): sunscreen stick, dynasty cream, ginseng water, and glow syrum I got Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner and Pixi Glow Toner (5% acid) because the internet told me it would get rid of the Closed Comedones - but after one use, and applying QV on top, the Closed Comedones look worse, and gave me a weird cluster under my eye and near my nose that also look like Closed Comedones... I have an event coming up and would really like to feel my most confident before attending. Please help me figure out what I should use on my face and what I should not. Thank you !

Fairly uniform bumps, not whiteheads or blackheads, resistance to other, fairly strong treatments for *3 years.* You lose nothing by trying an antifungal approach, a trial with a cream or shampoo as face wash is unlikely to cause additional irritation or acne.

[Acne] - I’m genuinely at my wit’s end with my skin and would love to hear from anyone who has dealt with something similar. I’ve had these tiny skin-colored bumps/closed-comedone-looking texture all over my cheeks for probably **3 years now**. My skin is also pretty much always red, and the texture looks especially bad when I wear makeup. I used **tretinoin 0.05% consistently for months** and never really saw an improvement in the bumps. If anything, I felt like it eventually irritated my skin/barrier, so I stopped using it several weeks ago. I also **restarted spironolactone about a month and a half ago** and haven’t noticed any change yet. I know it can take longer to work, but I’m just getting frustrated because I feel like I’ve been dealing with this forever. Right now my routine is extremely basic because I’m scared of irritating my skin even more — basically just a gentle cleanser and Clinique Moisture Surge. Even after cutting everything out, the bumps are still there. Has anyone had **persistent tiny bumps like this that didn’t respond to tretinoin?** Did you eventually figure out what they actually were or find something that finally cleared them? I feel like I’ve tried so much over the past few years and nothing has actually made a difference. Adding pictures with and without makeup. **Please be nice lol, I’m so over fighting with my skin 😭**
