Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

Accutane kid! My acne was just like yours but worst. 12-17. Plus all over my neck and back. Started accutane at 17, was 80-90% better in 4 months. Lots of dry skin on face but manageable and a much better problem. About 95% better after 6 months. Did another 3 month dose a year later and I’ve been mostly 95% clear since, unless I overdose on lemonade or sugary stuff. Highly recommend, then move on with your life and find new problems to have. Good luck

My dry lips were from Accutane but I similarly went through numerous lip balms. What I found worked the best was a nightly (you could also do this in the morning to a lesser extreme) sandwhich of getting them wet/heavy moisturizer/occlusive aquaphor from the tube over top. That locked in enough moisture that aquaphor lip balms applied every few hours during the day were enough to stop peeling and cracking. The LaNiege lip masks are also good but I despise anything I have to dip my finger into when out of my house so I never tried those on the go.

The increased acne could be that your skin is still going through the "purging" phase, which is when acne increases after starting tretinoin. But, it should be coming down soon if that's the case. If it doesn't, you'll need to have your doctor increase the strength of tretinoin to 0.05% --or-- consider starting Accutane pills. Until you get the acne to stop, the PIE won't go away either. So your focus should be on improving the acne reduction. One thing that could (?) also be going on is that your skin may not respond well to the Cetaphil morning moisturizer. For whatever reason, some people are sensitive to some of the ingredients they use. So you could also try switching the morning moisturizer to the La Roche Posay Double Repair Face Moisturizer spf 30. See if your skin is a bit more calm using that in the morning (give it 2 full weeks to resolve). The other thing I think you should try is once per week, skip the Tretinoin at night and instead use the Topicals Clarifying and Calming mask (sold at Sephora). You apply that after cleansing, let it sit on skin 20 minutes, then rinse it off. That has sulfur in it which helps with both fungus and acne reduction on the skin, but contains a handful of other ingredients that are good for acne without being too harsh. Pimple patches work really good on the pimples in their early stages, especially the ones that feel or look like they'll get pretty big (Hero brand is best I think). Try using those if you haven't already. Be sure you're applying the Tretinoin evenly across the skin, you shouldn't need to use more on your lower face.

If you can get prescription azelaic acid definitely go with that. If not you can try a 10% one. I like the Good Molecules azelaic acid the best. There are brands like Dermatica, Kisocare, Geek and Gorgeous, etc. that sell 15% azelaic acid as a cosmetic product so you don't need Rx but Rx is still probably better. Azelaic acid is also helpful for acne because it's antibacterial and a really good anti inflammatory. There's a lot of soothing products I like tbh. The Purito wonder releaf centella serum and bamboo panthenol moisturizer are good. Something like the Skin1004 centella ampoule is a safe pick and their poremizing ampoule is not bad. If you don't mind a thicker cream the Remedy rich cream works pretty good for redness. Accutane would be something you need to discuss with your dermatologist. They're the only one who can determine if accutane is necessary. For me personally I'd rather avoid accutane because of the side effects and frequent blood work. I also already have dry skin so I fear accutane will make me turn into a raisin.
