Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. [acne] nose breakouts, white heads and redness. - For a little over a year now the skin on my nose has been having very nasty breakouts. Every now and then It will have a few good days then I'll wake up one morning and have 11 whiteheads. I do my best not to pop them but as someone working in the service industry I can't have puss filled white heads on my face at work. I currently use cera ve foaming face cleanser at night and in the morning. Sometimes the whiteheads will go but the skin will stay red and irritated around it, then more whiteheads will show up in the morning. I've tried everything, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, I tried some azelaic acid with suspected rosacea? I change my pillow case and towel frequently. I had success for a couple of weeks using dove hand soap, and then came back with a breakout and felt like my skin barrier was being stripped away. My doctor advised me to stop using it. Also, I get acne in no other spots on my skin, only my nose. Also thought I should mention I had acne as a teenager and it went away as a young adult, I started washing with only water, for all of my twenties, no break outs, clear smooth skin. Then these little whiteheads popped up randomly and I haven't been able to get rid of them. Any advice would help ! Thank you in advance. Edit: photos in comments!

Ok these are likely post inflammatory erythema. They can typically go away on their own but it takes time. Anything irritating or that makes your skin flush can make them look worse. You have a lot of exfoliantion in your routine on top of benzoyl peroxide so that might not be helping. I would pause the SA moisturizer and the peel. At least the SA moisturizer. If you don't have any active acne the Cetaphil 2.6% benzoyl peroxide cleanser works well as maintenance and it's much more gentle/less drying than Panoxyl. So if you can switch to that it would be good. Azelaic acid is the typical treatment for PIE. It works well and can help acne because it's antibacterial and anti inflammatory I believe it's prescribed for acne if benzoyl peroxide is not tolerated. If you can I would suggest you get a 15% azelaic acid prescription, if not the Good Molecules azelaic acid has worked well for me. There's brands like Dermatica, Kisocare, Geek and Gorgeous, etc. that do sell 15-20% azelaic acid as cosmetic products which you can get without prescription. If you look up azelaic acid on yesstyle you'll find a lot of them. Prescription is best though. Other ingredients good for PIE are NAG, tranexamic acid, niacinamide, vitamin c, retinoids, and most treatments targeted at pigmentation will help. Anything soothing like panthenol, cica, oatmeal, allantoin, etc. is a massive help because they not only help promote healing but help to calm down any redness you have which can visually improve PIE a lot. I've personally had a lot of success with adding peptides, mainly matrixyl and egf/growth factors. They help promote healing which is a big part of fading PIE. The Minimalist multi peptide serum and Purito centella releaf serum have worked well for me. Bakuchiol has seemed to help as well. The Purito serum has peptides that promote wound healing and barrier repair. I think it's a good serum to have in your routine as general skin support. I really like the Good Molecules discoloration correction serum, it's really good and will help PIE, but the Peach Slices discoloration serum might work a bit better. It uses the same actives as Good Molecules but it has NAG, some other pigmentation ingredients, and a handful of soothers in addition. Keeping your skin well moisturized and protected from the sun is a must and will go a long way. Mineral spf might help a bit since the zinc can be soothing.

[Routine help] Skin keeps getting worse after i tried instagram skincare routine - Hello, i have come here in desperate need of help. My skin used to be really clear and spot/pimple free but then i decided to go ahead with instagrams famous ‘glowy’ skin routine which included azelaic acid (20%) every morning and adapalene/azelaic acid on alternate nights (dumb me, i know). I used this combination for only a week when my skin started to burn. I immediately stopped using the acids and continued using my moisturiser only (Cera Ve daily moisturiser). Now it has been more than two months since then and my skin still seems to be getting worse. Its uneven, textured, extremely rough to the touch and dry. I dont know what to do anymore. I feel helpless and rue the day i decided to start my ‘skincare journey’. I used to have such nice skin :( Can anyone help me recover my skin? Is it recoverable?

[Routine Help] 1 month post barrier damage PIE - 3 Months ago i started to work in a really stresfull job, remote, dirty water, 4-5 hours of sleep, different climate, drinking only 1.5 liters water daily , high cortisol etc. That really affected my face and started to cause me these red little marks called PIE i guess. I was happy with my face and didn't have any of those before starting there. Now it's been a month that i quit. I bought azelaic acid as i was still working there but didn't use it because my skin barrier was damaged, my face was burning when i was applying cerave moisturizer. So i wanted to keep it simple, only moisturizer, cleanser and sunscreen. Now i've been doing that routine for a month and i think there's an improvement by looking at the pictures, i don't know if i should start using that azelaic or keep going simple and wait for them to fade away naturally. I need your help. Thanks

These are actually PIE. Read up on it , very different from PIH and requires barrier repairing, proper moisturized skin all the time , sun protection both product based and physical ( umbrella, wide brim hat etc ). Will take quite some time to fade. Azelaic acid can also work but better consult a dermat before using.
