Each point is a seven-day rolling window of complete UTC days; a point is comparable only when at least 100 analyzed posts or comments fall inside it. A day with no analyzed records counts as zero; missing coverage is marked and never shown as zero. The series ends at the latest complete analyzed day — it never extends into the current incomplete day. How attention is measured.

You never know how hormones are going to effect your skin and it’s response to laser- especially something as deep as fraxel or co2. It is absolutely not worth the risk of damage to your skin, or the chance of reactive pigment. Highly, highly recommend waiting until at least a few months after completely stopping breastfeeding and your hormones are back in order. (Speaking as an esthetician who has worked in med spas and alongside lasers for the last 10ish years). If anything, consider microneedling before heavy duty ablative lasers.

Hello everyone! ❤️ I'm between 18 and 20 years old, and I've been **struggling with acne for six years** without being able to get it under control long-term. I would really appreciate advice from dermatologists, gynecologists, endocrinologists, or anyone who has gone through a similar experience. I have acne all over my face, ranging from small bumps under the skin and closed comedones to deep, painful, inflamed acne that leaves behind red marks and scars. My skin is extremely oily, but at the same time dehydrated, sensitive, and irritated. Over the years, I've tried almost everything: natural skincare, drugstore products, pharmacy skincare, Korean skincare, expensive and affordable products, simple and complicated routines, and even periods of using no skincare products at all. I've also used prescription treatments such as Epiduo and Duac, as well as antibiotics. Some treatments only helped partially, others made my skin worse, and I had to stop certain treatments because of irritation and side effects. I've visited both private and public dermatologists, seen estheticians, and tried various facial treatments. I've changed my diet, taken supplements, increased my water intake, changed my pillowcases and bedsheets daily, and used disposable paper towels to dry my face. Unfortunately, nothing has provided lasting improvement. **Regarding my hormones**, my menstrual cycles have always been irregular and usually last longer than 35 days. I have extremely oily skin and scalp, as well as symptoms such as excessive hair growth or hair loss. I've had hormone tests done, and some of the results were outside the normal reference ranges, although I currently can't remember which ones. I also had a gynecological ultrasound, and my ovaries appeared normal. I took the birth control pill Belara for approximately 3–6 months, but I didn't notice any significant improvement in my acne. I stopped taking it over a year ago. My acne sometimes gets slightly worse before my period, but it is present throughout the entire month. Also, before I started using different active skincare ingredients, I didn't experience such noticeable redness and burning sensations. This makes me wonder whether years of trying different treatments may have damaged my skin barrier. **My main questions are:** * Could my acne have a hormonal cause, such as PCOS, despite having a normal ovarian ultrasound? Which tests would be worth considering? * Considering my deep, painful acne, the scarring, and the lack of success with previous treatments, could I be a suitable candidate for isotretinoin (Accutane/Roaccutane), which I have never tried before? * Should I focus on investigating possible hormonal issues first, or can hormonal testing and dermatological treatment be carried out at the same time? * How should I approach treating acne when my skin is simultaneously extremely oily, dehydrated, and irritated? After six years of trying different treatments, I'm honestly exhausted, and I don't want to keep randomly trying new products and procedures. I would really like to understand the underlying cause of my acne and find an appropriate medical approach to prevent new breakouts and further scarring. I would be incredibly grateful for any professional advice, personal experiences, or recommendations for a good dermatologist or endocrinologist who has experience treating similar cases. **Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to read this and offer any help! ❤️**

Eek. I’m so sorry. That sounds horrible, I don’t blame you for stopping. Is there ANY way you could report the esthetician at least?? Not stopping the extractions despite you expressing pain seems so unethical. I’ve never experienced extractions, but I would think that would not be acceptable. I just assumed that FR’s program was run like NAC, but I guess it’s very different. The program I went through was entirely online, all I had to do was to follow the skincare routine that my coach set up for me and check in every couple of weeks to inform her of any positive or negative changes to my skin. Natural Acne Clinic has an actual physical location but their program is offered online too, for the non local folks. So sorry again about your experience and I hope that your skin recovers quickly from this. :(

Out of curiosity is the esthetician the one who sold you the products? That plus biweekly appointments is setting alarm bells off in my head. To me it just sounds like this person is milking you for cash

honey, i’m an esthetician in my 40’s: your skin is lovely. people would kill for your skin. wear sunscreen, cerave eye cream for under eyes (personally i think under eye coloration is hot, but i was also born with two black eyes and have spent a lifetime covering them up, until i finally realized i love them on other people so why not also myself??), drink water, treat your skin like it is sensitive until otherwise advised, and step away from the mag light. nobody who isn’t a professional should use 10x light, you’ll just make yourself depressed. maybe do some facial massage and or some kind of exercise if you’re feeling dull to up your circulation. do some affirmations. i’m serious. spend less time worrying about your face and more time learning to love yourself. but also, wear sunscreen 🩷
